PROFINET Adapter cab-4-PNET-500
Possible uses
The cab-4-PNET-500 PROFINET adapter is used to connect the serial data interface of Sensor Instruments sensors to a PROFINET fieldbus network. The cab-4-PNET-500 PROFINET adapter automatically converts the RS-232 output data of the sensors into the cyclic data area of the PROFINET fieldbus. By activating the acyclic data transfer, the sensors can be configured via the fieldbus using the function modules provided here in the → TIA Portal Example Program.
Configuration
To connect the respective sensor from Sensor Instruments, it is recommended to first carry out the basic configuration of the sensor using the PC software provided (Download Software). Adjustments to the configuration can also be made later via the fieldbus. The cab-4-PNET-500 PROFINET adapter must be set to the RS-232 baud rate of the sensor. This is done using the function blocks from the TIA Portal provided here. The sensor-specific → UDT files are also available for download here.
TIA Portal integration
The → GSDML file contains information about the cab-4-PNET-500 PROFINET adapter. This file is required for the PROFINET controller and must be imported into the TIA Portal and integrated into the configuration software.
